Sweets were rationed until 1954.
Today we found out how much rationed food you could have in a week. During WWII the government decided that food had to be rationed. This meant people could only have so much food each week.
Here the girls are measuring how many sweets you could have in a week. It was good fun and it was interesting too!! We all saw how much we could have and we were all shocked to find out how little it was. We measured eggs, milk, sweets, tea, preserves(jam), bacon and others. In the olden days they used ounces (oz) to measure weight where today we use mililitres (ml). We really enjoyed the investigation and we are glad we are so lucky!!!
