On Friday 10th March Clydach Primary went to Play Football Swansea for a football tournament. The tournament started at 12:15. Before Clydach played their game they converted into two teams because one team from another school didn't turn up.
Clydach played Craig Felen first and somehow lost 6:5 and then went for a break. After their break they played a team called Loughor and drew 4-4,but Clydach were unlucky. They won their two remaining games. After the game we spoke to Ashton Shepherd and he said "It was really good and challenging." Clydach are now through to the semi-finals. Good luck!

Clydach Primary School on World Book Day dressed up as different characters from books. Eva was Pikachu from the Pokèmon series, Leona was a pirate from the movie Pirates, Sophie was Mad Hatter from Alice In Wonderland, Lola was a Fairy Godmother from Cinderella and Seren was Totoro from the anime series My Neighbor Totoro! We asked a few people what they thought about World Book Day. Mrs. McComas said,"I loved reading the famous five books." Mr McComas said,"My favourite books when I was younger were the Alfred Hitchcock books." Seren's opinion was,"Everybody's costumes were great." All in all, everybody joined in, looked great and had a lovely day. We also had 3 girls (Eva, Sophie and Seren) who played the piano beautifully, and more year 6's (Sophie, Ashton, Lola, Warren, Josh and James are in green house and Seren and Leona in group yellow) did a dance that they have been practicing for very hard; they put a lot of time and effort into it and they did great! Look at our book trailers below. We made them using imovies trailer.
On March 1st Clydach Primary School held an Eisteddfod for Saint David's Day in the junior department hall.
The week before the Eisteddfod we had to design either a love spoon or a poster about Wales. So when the Eisteddfod came the teachers had to judge the creations: first second or third. As well as that we were told to learn a Welsh poem and we wore our Welsh costumes all week. Some people wore dresses but others just wore Welsh hoodies or jerseys. We carried on with our Eisteddfod on Friday the 3rd of March. Year 6 did their colour house dances and some people played the piano. The overall winner of the competitions was the green house. |
