One of our amazing year 6 artists have won Clydach Historical Society's art competition. All schools in the area were asked to submit their three best entries and one of the Clydach Primary entries was judged to be the overall winner.
During a presentation evening on Friday night the award was presented. The winning design will be on the front cover of the society's next newsletter. All entries will also be showcased at Clydach library. It was 'Shwmae Day' in Clydach Prmary School today. Everyone dressed up in red, green or white and took part in lots of 'Welsh' activities. There were Welsh cakes on sale breaktime. A poster competition in the afternoon and we took pictures and videos with the Welsh flag. Try to answer some of the questions we have been asking each other in Welsh.
We made this radio show using an app called Boss Jock Jnr. We have included some radio plays about the Victorians. The show was recorded live but the plays were made beforehand using the app GarageBand. On Friday, a man from Swansea University came and told us about science and computer coding. We learned about if a ball is in a cup will it fall on the floor if you tipped it upside down. If you put the cup on a string with the ball inside of it and swing it around will it will not fall out because of a force called centrifugal force. We also learned about how an aeroplane flies using Bernoulli's principle. He told us how to make a very cool looking game on Scratch and we all found out how to make the character so then it follows where the mouse is going on the laptops. It was a great morning I really enjoyed it and I hope you look at our videos below and I hope you enjoy them at home or anywhere.
On the 3rd of October Clydach Primary School went to a football tournament on the astro turf football pitch. Cwmtawe organised the tournament and some of the year 11's refereed the game.
