Pontardawe Football Tournament

On the 3rd of October Clydach Primary School went to a football tournament on the astro turf football pitch. Cwmtawe organised the tournament and some of the year 11's refereed the game.


The tournament was held in Pontadawe. Clydach primary school were feeling confident about winning the cup.

It was held on the 3rd of October because it was ment to be a very dry, sunny day until 16:00. The time we had to go was 9:00 until 14:30 which was good; it was not ment to rain so that was very lucky for all the teams.

We had two teams made up of year 6/5 boys and girls. The rules were that two girls had to be playing at all times out of 6 team members with rolling subs. Sofie said: "Both teams played very well in the 1st league but ok in the semi-final.''

Clydach Primary School entered the football tournament hoping to win another gold cup to go up on the school shelf with all the rest of the trophies there. CJ said: "We played brilliant in league 1 but I think we should have won the first games in the semi-finals."


Both teams were top of their league and soon went to the semi-finals. The first team lost 3-1 and sadly got kicked out but the second team went all the way to a penalty shout out but lost 5-4. However, we had a fantastic time.
