Morning everyone. I hope you had a nice weekend. It was really good to see all the work that you completed last week.
If you have any ideas for different things we could do this week, either reply to this post or message me.
Here are activities for Monday 30th March 2020

1. For the next few days in maths we will be concentrating on multiplication. Take this opportunity to practise a table or tables you do not know yet.
You could play the times tables songs we use in class at:
http://6mclydachjuniors.weebly.com/times-tables1.html

SUMDOG - I’ve set a times tables challenge. Aim for at least 50 answers.

SEESAW - I have set a few question to check you understand. If you are having difficulties, go to my tutorials on NEO. If you find it OK go to:

IDOCEO CONNECT pin: 71645. (Simple multiplication)

2. English - Found on SEESAW will be a Vocabulary Ninja list. Write 7-10 sentences.
Picture
3. Reading - I have placed Chapter 26 of The Nowhere Emporium on Neo under Making Connections.

Picture
4. Science - SEESAW How the eye works. Read the slide and create your own annotated drawing of the eye. It could be a model, perhaps created on Minecraft. Be as creative as you want.

I hope this keeps you busy today. Remember to exercise and take regular breaks.
I’d be interested to know how long it took you to complete all the tasks. When you finish, message me an approximate time it took you.

Hi everyone,
Lots of you are submitting work which I am enjoying looking at.
I am continuing to upload chapters from ‘The Nowhere Emporium’. There are about 8 chapters left (you will find the chapters in different lessons).

List of activities for Wednesday 25th March 2020

Try the house colour competition on SUMDOG. Aim for 50+ questions.

NEO - Read Chapter 25 of the Nowhere Emporium found in the Visualisation lesson.

Find a cuboid in your house (cereal box, book etc). Measure the length x width x height to work out the volume (remember making a box for fireworks with Miss Ware). Take a photo on SEESAW and show your workings (I’ve uploaded an example).

Morning all. I will post a to-do list every day you are supposed to be in school. If you are finding it difficult, for whatever reason, get in touch by sending me a post.

Today’s To-Do List - Monday 23rd March 2020

Visit Seesaw and see a new feature called words for the week. The first list (grasshopper) is easier than the second (Shinobi). Choose which list you are going to work on. Write a sentence for each word on your list. Use a dictionary (online or book) if you need to.
Picture

Again on Seesaw, try to complete the reasoning problem to the best of your ability.
Picture
Visit the Reading Test Practice class on NEOLMS.EU and complete the ‘The Lookout’ test.

Read the slide on Seesaw on Light Sources. Find out some interesting facts. For example, how fast light travels; how long it takes to travel from the sun; how we measure light brightness. Post your findings.
Picture
Type in your search ‘Play Kahoot’ - Class join code 0274076

I will post all these details on NEOLMS.EU. Get in touch with any questions throughout the day and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Information for Parents/Guardians

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I hope during these extraordinary times we can work together to keep educating your child. I have already been test running our systems this week and the children are up to speed with logging in and navigating the various systems.

Pupils have been sent home with packs which included logins and where to find work over the period the school is closed.

During this past week I have been communicating and setting work through a learning management system called NEO LMS. I will continue to do this. I will post a
list of suggested activities, directing pupils to a new quiz or piece of work to carry out. For ease of access, I will also post the list on our class blog.

I have placed maths tutorials, past paper quizzes and work linked to our class novel on NEO, which the pupils know how to access. I will endeavour to keep adding to this portal.

Pupils will also find missions or project based work in our shared folder on J2e. Our topic next term is 'The Olympics'. This can be worked on over time.

Paper tasks can be shared with me by taking a photo and uploading it to Seesaw.

Any queries, please feel free to comment on the blog and I will get back to you ASAP.

On the 2nd 3rd and the 4th of March the year 6 of Clydach Primary went cycling. They learnt about safety on the roads on their bikes. They went on to the yard to practice and then they went out to the road.

Chris and Patrick were the instructors who showed us how to stay be safe on our bikes.

On Tuesday the 2nd they did the level 1. To get through level one you must do the signals, the positions which are the stop/start, secondary, primary and the last one is the door and a bit more to get through.

On the same day they were split into groups. Goup A went out the on to the roads so that group B could go the next day.

On the 3rd and 4th, group B went out on their bikes onto the roads to do what group A did on the second.

They did u turns, left turns and right turns on the roads to get through level 2.

Everyone seemed to have a great time out ad learnt how to stay safe on the roads.
