Hi!!! Today we had a rugby match against Gellionon. They did pretty well in the first half. The scores were 3 tries to 1 to them. In the second half our team stopped them from scoring any more tries. At the end the scores were tied at three all. It was an excellent game and it was played in a good spirit.

Today, first lesson we did mental math with ten quick questions. We did multiplying decimal like 5.6 x 8 = 5 x 8 = 40 0.6 x 8 = 4.8 40 + 4.8 = 44.8 It was very easy,and quite fun to work out the sums. After maths we did a storyboard of your own story set in school in a group of 3. Me, Rachel and Ellie worked together and we made a storyboard of a girl locked in prison and manages to escape to go and hide in Clydach Junior school. After dinner we went down to the hall to do Welsh dancing. We had to get into pairs. I was with Rhys . We had to shake right hands four times and left hands four times, then we had to clap our own hands four times then our partners hands four times.When we side skip into the middle two times and back out. This morning we did 10 quick questions and carried on with maths. It was very hard but we did it in the end. We finished off the area of right-angle triangles then we had play. After play we did some work on commas because some people didn't know how to use them properly. They were putting them in the wrong places. They were putting them in places where you should have full stops and putting full stops in places where you should have commas. After dinner we read another chapter from Room 13. We are very excited to know what happens next. Later in the afternoon, we went outside and played a game of rounders on the yard. As we were about to play, Mrs Fowlers class came out and we had to play on the football pitch instead. During the game the ball was hit over the fence into the next door neighbours garden twice. We have to wait until the balls are returned. When school finished, a few members of our school went to the cross-country competiton in Coed Gwilym park. The girls team were : Terezka, Ellie, April, Myha, Isobel and Charlotte. The boys team were : Emil, Rhys, Lewis J, Lewis Mcc, Johnathan and Callum. In the end the girls got through to the finals but unfortunatly the boys didn't get through.It will be held for the girls at Ashley Road in two weeks time. Today we did lots of maths. We carried on doing area of a triangle. What we did to work it out was we drew a rectangle and then drew a diagonal line through it to form a triangle. Next we had to work out what the area was by halving the area of the rectangle. Next we had to do English. We were writing our own Short stories. It was really fun! My story was about a little girl walking home from her grans but she took the short way through the woods. She saw a man, fainted and woke up in hospital.She saw the man which she saw in the woods and said"It's you again." In the afternoon we did Welsh.We were practising our Welsh conversations to get a higher level in Welsh. I hope I can get a high level in Welsh because I live in Wales. Hi! Today we did some maths on area of right-angled triangles, but before that we did some word problems and used calculators to work them out. Next lesson we did an ending of one of the short stories from SHORT. It was really fun reading how some people's stories ended!!! We had to try and write it in 100 words. The last lesson we went down to the hall and did some Welsh dancing. It was really good fun. We had to walk 4 steps forward and then 4 steps back, then walk 8 steps forward past our partner then repeat. The partners at the top had to hold hands and side step forward and back, after that you make an arch and all the partners go through!!! We also learnt about habitats and about vertebrate animals and invertebrate animals . A vertebrate animal is a animal with a back bone and a invertebrate is a animal with no back bone. A massive 95% of animals are invertebrate animals and 5% of animals are vertebrate's. We had to finish off our habitat posters and they looked really good. By Lewis and Lucy. Welcome to class 6Ms new learning blog. At the end of the school day two pupils will be asked to write what we have learnt during the day. Hopefully we will look back at the end of the year and be proud of our achievements. Today, first of all, we did mental maths. In mental maths we did 10 subtraction sums. Here is one: 62-23=39. They were shown on the computer screen. After some mental maths we we did maths on prime numbers. 7 is a prime number because only 1 and itself go into it. Some other prime numbers up to 60 are: 2, 3, 5, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 51, 53 and 59. 2 is the only even number that is prime. After the maths, we went down to he hall and did some Welsh dancing. We got into partners and Sir told us what moves we needed to do. As Sir put on the music on we got into our position in the circle with the other 5 pairs. First we had to shake each others right hands 4 times, then our left 4 times. After that we clapped 4 times with our own hands, then clapped our two hands on our partners two hands 4 times. Next we held each others hands and rode into the middle of the circle and out again, we do that twice. After that we criss-cross our hands and spin around 8 times, going back to the position you were in in the first place. |
