On Friday our school, Clydach Juniors, were asked to play St Joseph in football. We played down Coed Gwilym. They have a football pitch and a park. It's a big place. St Joseph school is right next to Coed Gwilym. The match kicked off. An early corner to Clydach saw Leon Price score a long shot from out side the box. The ball was on fire as it passed the St Joseph's keeper. The early optimism of the Clydach Junior team soon evaporated as St Joseph's hit back with a goal to level the scores. Throughout the game we played better but they had lucky goals. We had two of our key player out because one was ill and the other one was not allowed to play for other reasons . Althought we lost it was a fun day.

St Josephs were given a football lesson by Clydach Junior Girls team on Friday. They won 5 nil and had great passing and shots. That's what you call teamwork. Natalie scored 2, Bryanna scored 2 and Izzi scored 1. Myha, their amazing goalie, saved one goal that was a powerful shot but that's the only time St Joseph's had the ball near the goals. Natalie did a great pass to Bryanna which Bryanna scored. Natalie and Izzi skilled them all. St Joesph's didn't have a chance. So far this season Clydach Junior girls have won both their matches, against Pentregraig and St Josephs. None of the team's stood a chance. Clydach Junior girls ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!! Here are some of the comments from Clydach Junior girls team: Natalie: I think that we played really well and worked well as a team. It was a great win and hopefully we will keep winning our matches. Isobel: We played very well and had good chemistry. This is our third win in a row and we hope to keep it up. Bryanna: Well, we played very well and the score was brilliant, 5-0. We were all passing about the pitch like there was no tomorrow. We are going to keep it up. Come on girls. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!! |
