We first planned out what we were going to draw and what it was going to be like and what the colours were going to be. Were there going to be any funny pictures; maybe your name in big letters and cool fonts and so on.
Once we had done all that, we printed them off so that we could take them to our desks to copy. When we had got started it was really good fun! We could use paints, felt tips, colouring pencils or crayons. Lots of us are finished and some are close. We all had a brilliant time and hope to do more fantastic art soon!

Niamh, Rebecca and Daria used their animation skills to hold a master class for a group of Year 2s today. Everyone learnt a lot and had good fun. We are looking forward to teaching Year 2 some more new skills soon.
We use garage band at school. It is a fun app for everone. Garage Band is all about music and sounds you can collect different instruments and make a song and you can listen back to what you have created. Garage Band is good for teaching children about different music and sounds. It also teach names of instruments.
Some Fun Tips On How To Play Garage Band !!! 1. Make sure that you haven't left the microphone on. 2. Turn off metronome. 3. Make sure the section length is turned to automatic. 4. On the top there will be a button that ables you to switch to see what instrument you have added. 5. You can move the bars to make them bigger, longer or shorter. 6. You can record your voice and add it to the music. 7. You can buy this app at the Apple App Shop. Look out on our website for some music we will be making in the future! Today our class -6m- were looking at some old gadgets. We looked at a radio player, record player and old computers.
Mr McComas put the record player on while we were doing our work. Sir played different songs and tapes. The make of the the record player was Philip. Philips is quit popular even now. One thing we noticed is that most of the gadgets are dark colours. The gadgets that we have now, have really improved since then like the tape recorder, now we have iPods for music. The iPods can store a lot more music than the tape recorders. The record player has to have big speakers to go with it or otherwise it won't work. Most of these gadgets use electricy or they have to be plugged in. The recorder can play tapes as well. By this you can see how much the technogly has improved since 1970s and on. We are lucky that we have got ipod's and ipads or otherwise we won't know how to work all of these. Last Wednesday, the indoor athletics took place down Ashley Road. The whole team did the best they could and finished an amazing FIRST! The first events were the field including; long jump, high jump and shot putt. In the long jump, Eva came a well deserved 2nd, only 2cm behind the winner. Also Elliot a 2nd too, in the high jump. A fantastic 1st was given to Karolinka and Nathan a 2nd. And lots more brilliant places for the school!
Next were the running races. In the hundred meter sprint, Karolinka won by miles! Elliot a outstanding 1st too. Then the long five hundred meters. Eva came a wonderful 2nd, Brendan coming 3rd! In the summer, the outdoor athletics will be taking place, hopfully more firsts, seconds and thirds! On the 7th of March, six people went to the Swansea Waterfont Museum, their names are, Karolinka, Chelsea, Daria, Anna-May, Rebecca and Niamh. We went because we were chosen to make an animation and we were in the finals.
When we got there; we looked around for a while and had free drinks and cakes! We saw people dressed up as characters from Welsh animations. Finally it was time to go upstairs to find out who had won, but first, we had to watch all of the animations that had been made by other schools. Then after each animation, we scored them all out of five.(We weren't allowed to score our own) As soon as we watched them all, we were told who came first, second and third. Our animation came second! We won an animation kit- that would have cost fifty pounds- and a frame of an animation that hasn't even came out yet. All in all, we had a great day and did the best we could to win some prizes. On the way back, we told the class how well we did and they were very impressed. |
