Lillian Smith came into our class to talk about her experiences as a WWII evacuee.
We were very lucky today. A lady came in to talk about what it was like being a evacuee. Mrs Smith was evacuated to Clydach when she was 7. She found it really scary on the train by herself. She went with no friends and she didn't know what was going on. We found out that people used to hide in bomb shelter's, but it was still scary under there if a bomb came too close. Mrs Smith was the only child in her evacuee family so she was really spoilt. When she was there for about 3 month's it felt like home to her. Mrs Smith's family let her help around the shop if she wanted to.
Year 6Mc class in Clydach Primary School. There are 21 girls and 13 boys.
