Yesterday Year 6 went on to the yard and measured the area and perimeter of the yard.
First we worked out that two steps is the same as a metre. Then we drew a plan of the yard and gave different people different areas to measure.
After that, all of the pupils went out to the yard and measured the area. We all came together to work out the total area.
Jaydon said: " It was fun and a good way to learn maths."
Ashton said that "It was good to get outdoors to do maths."
I think that at the end the children had a score that was kind of similar. "I think that this was a good way of learning math because you got fresh air and its a way of learning every day thing."
